Happy New Year 2009!!!
A warm welcome to our new students, Ashley Rivera and Natalie Gungon, and their families.
The children are enjoying circle time every day; we incorporate singing and dancing activities, as well as introduce our academic lesson of the day. Please make sure your child is here by 9 am. We would like to remind you that Share Day is every Friday. Good ideas for sharing items are books, family pictures, souvenirs, items related to the unit of the month, etc.
Reminder, toys are not allowed at school.
We try to enjoy our outside time as much as we can, weather permitting, but due to the weather conditions, the children can get wet or dirty. Please make sure your child has a change of clothing in his/her cubbie, and for those that use diapers, take the time to go to the back room and check if your child has enough diapers/baby wipes.
The children are learning about Zoo Animals this month. We are working in different areas with the new children on how to use the Montessori Materials, and we let them explore if they are able to. We continue to work with numbers, letter sounds, colors and shapes, and with Practical Life and Art.
On Friday, February 13th, we will be celebrating "Valentines Day". The children are welcome to bring Valentine cards to pass out to their friends. Please make sure to write only your child's name on the cards. There are 14 children in the class. A list of goodies will be posted if you would like to participate.
Thank you,
Miss Virginia and Miss Edith
