Warm Greetings to everyone. March is a month of wind and fun. This is a time of whistling winds and seasonal change. We hope to make this month very exciting also.
We are fast approaching the end of the school year. The children are still very busy in all areas of learning.
In Language, some of the children are done reading the 8 Book Series. They have started reading the second set of books. In Writing the children are still working in Workbook 1.
In Math, the children have shown big improvements in writing the numbers on the Hundred Boards. They have been introduced to addition.
Our special unit for the month of March is about Time. The children will learn how to read time, learn time vocabulary and different units of time measurements. Again, if you have anything to share on this, please let me know about it.

Thank you, Miss Nida

From Miss Monica’s Class
Dear Parents,

Welcome to Viviana and family to our new class! Congratulations on your new baby brother!

Last month we had huge conversations about healthy food, including the food pyramid and discussing the different types of food your body should be receiving to grow healthy and strong. The children really enjoyed this topic, finding a lot of interest in it.

This month we will be moving on to the solar system. This is a very abstract concept for your children to understand and will be a little difficult to fully grasp, so be aware when trying to explain something. Remember Pluto is not a planet, it is just a body in our solar system, and we only have 8 planets. The sun is also a star.

The school year is progressing very well, there are many social concepts they are understanding and implementing themselves. We are always working on grace and courtesy throughout the environment as well as basic manners.
Having consistency within both school and home helps these concepts become more concrete. I appreciate the support from you families as we all help your children grow and learn.
Thank you,
Miss Monica

A warm welcome to the school to Gavin, Sebastian, Aria, Amelia, Connor, and their families.
Thank you everyone for the contributions to Valentine’s Day. The children enjoyed receiving cards, and getting treats from their friends.
Reminder, if you arrive after 9:00 am, please enter through the gate. We also kindly ask when you drop/pick up your child, do it with as little interruption as possible, children are engaged in activities, but can easily get distracted.
Teachers clean and prepare their classroom at the end of each day, and leave it ready for the next day. Children are not allowed to use class materials when classes are not in session. Also, children are not allowed to walk alone in the classrooms, please make sure you accompany them to put/or pick up their lunch boxes, etc. Please do not discuss your child’s progress/day with the teachers when they are busy with the children; if you have concerns or questions, you can call between 1:30 – 2: 00 (nap Time) or email to info@montessorischoolofconcord.com.
Make sure your child’s nails are properly groomed (clipped) to avoid accidental scratches.
