From The Director,
Welcome to the school Juliana, Calvin, and their families.
Our “Thanksgiving Feast” was wonderful, this could not have been possible without the delicious dishes brought in by you. It was nice to share this special feast with our children and the parents; we extend our sincere appreciation for your participation in this holiday event.
On Friday, December 22nd, we will have our “Winter Celebration”, find the signup sheet in your child’s classroom if you would like to bring something.
Please check your child’s cubbie, with the change of weather, they may need to change their extra clothes for something warm. Also make sure (check with your teacher) your child has an emergency/disaster pack.
For safety purposes, we ask you to avoid conversations with the teachers when they are busy with the children, and please exit through the gate in the afternoon. A sign is on the door, please respect it, no one is inside at this time to monitor the door.
From Miss Monica’s Class
Welcome December and the cold to go with it! The first day of Winter will be on December 21st, and the class party will be on December 22nd.
Throughout the year, when we learn the different topics from our Special Unit, we continue practicing and learning about them as they come up. We talk about colors and insects as we see them and having a season change gives the opportunity to continue what we learned last month. This month, we are discussing about Sea Life.
In Math, we are working on Sequence and Quantities; seeing a number and counting out the amount. In Language, we are mastering our sounds, we are also introducing Initial Sounds (“m”, mom). We also have started writing letters. Parents, please help your child and encourage proper pencil grip, as well as forming the letters (lower case).
December is filled with Holidays and fun! We will be learning about three different ones; (Hanukkah, Kwanza, and Christmas).
Please feel free to share anything you have about Holidays or traditions you celebrate at home!
We would like to thank you for your help and support on our Thanksgiving Feast. Everyone enjoyed the food and the time spent together.
I would like to update you with what’s going on in our classroom. In Math, the children are in Linear Counting. They will learn how to do the Ten Board, Positive Snake game, and the Hundred Board on Bead Chain.
In Language, some of the children are already reading the second set of books, and some are still on the first set of books. The children are in different levels of learning.
Our unit for this month is about Mammals. Again, if you have anything to share on this, please let me know about it. The children can bring on “Share Day” things that relate to the unit.
A sign-up sheet will be posted for the upcoming “Winter Celebration”.
